Welcome Baby Cate

On Thursday morning January 29, 2009 Catherine "Cate" Ann Schaffer quietly made her way into the world. Just as soon as the doctor pulled her out she promptly peeded all over the doctor. The doctors and delivery team chuckled as they thought this was a very funny way to enter into the world. All the nurses loved her long feet and skinny toes and very long back ond legs, This is an attritubute she picks up from her mother. Cate weighed in at 7.0 Lbs and 20 inches long.

Her mommy & daddy had so convinced themselves that this baby was going to be a boy while most everyone around them believed it would be a girl. Lisa was so confident with her motherly instinct that she decided to only pack clothes for a boy and left behind all the pink clothes at home. She knew all along that she would be returning all of thoes cute and frilly pink outfits.

Her daddy was a little stunned that it was girl. The more he held her the more he loved her. Mark had not mentaly prepared himself for a girl, however the idea is rapidly growing on him. Cate has without a doubt wone over her fathers heart.

At 10:25 she met her two wonderful sets of grandparents...Papsi Schaffer, Grandma Schaffer, Papa Sellers, & Grammie Sellers were all very happy to see their newest bundle of joy.

  1. Our dearest little Baby Cate,

    WELCOME and MANY BLESSINGS!!

We our so very excited to hear that you have arrived at last!! The boys are most excited to meet you! A Girl! Did your Mommy and Daddy really think they would get a boy? All the Sellers klan (Your Great Aunt's and Uncle's) had girls first!

I only wish that the weather had been nicer so that we could have made it over to see you by now! The ice is slowly melting and Punxsatawney Phil has just predicted 6 more weeks of winter!! So...hopefully in the near future we can make it over to see you (and of course your Mommy and Daddy too)!!

Rest sweet baby and let Mommy and Daddy get used to having you around. You know they are old(er) and it takes a while to adjust. Be patient...your crys will be taken care of quickly. You are so LOVED and at least for a while now... the world WILL revolve around you!

    All our LOVE,
Cousin Gin, Kent, Wyatt and Gabriel
